RSNO MINI Pops on Tour around Glasgow

The rain certainly didn’t spoil the fun as the RSNO MINI Summer Pops took to Buchanan Street in Glasgow. Musicians brought a tuneful phrase or two to the city centre yesterday afternoon in a trio of MINI Convertible models supplied by Douglas Park.

Musicians from the Royal Scottish National Orchestra (RSNO) gave mini performances to promote the orchestra’s new June concert series, ‘RSNO Summer Pops’. RSNO principal trombone Dávur Juul Magnussen and principal tuba John Whitener put on flash performances of music from the forthcoming RSNO Summer Pops concert series.

The fleet of MINI’s in red, white and blue then left the busy shopping street and headed for some of Glasgow’s landmarks where they stopped and performed brief, impromptu mini concerts. Despite the rain, the convey visited Kelvin Grove Art Gallery and Museum, Ashton Lane, the Merchant City, the Squiggly Bridge and STV before heading back to the Royal Concert Hall.
